"Buffalo-born Robert Paterson’s colorful Triple Concerto, "Summit," compellingly examines the composer’s concerns regarding our planet: can humans truly steward this fragile Earth well? The piece offers a wide array of emotional and natural expressions and ends on a note of both grief and hope for the Earth we call home."

The Knoxville Symphony, Aram Demirjian, conductor, presents the world premiere of American composer Robert Paterson's Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra, "Cocktail Concerto," a spirited saxophone concerto inspired by cocktails prominently featured in classic cinema, as a part of KSO's 9 for 90: KSO's commitment to commissioning and performing music by living composers.
